A number of planning applications for the Amman Valley, Llandeilo, Llandovery, and surrounding areas have recently been made.

Here are the applications submitted to Carmarthenshire County Council between November 4 and November 8.

Retrospective application for new agricultural access

A retrospective planning application has been submitted for new agricultural access at Henllys Fach, Cilycwm.

The access, created in December 2022, is the sole entrance to the farmland and according to the application is essential for carrying out agricultural work.

Retrospective planning application for bird aviary

Dolaucothi Arms Hotel, Pumpsaint, has submitted a retrospective planning application for a bird aviary.

Completed on March 29, 2024, the aviary will house birds of prey for personal experiences and educational purposes for guests and private bookings.

The hotel aims to increase tourism in the area and engage the community with plans for heritage talks about the Roman fort.

The application states the aviary is a temporary structure, floating on the surface and causing no detrimental effect on the ground works

Front porch and improved driveway

An application has been submitted for a front porch and improved driveway at 12 Bryn Bach Road, Upper Brynamman.

The plans include removing an existing planted area and replacing it with a newly located planting area, bird box, front porch, and modifying the existing parking area.

Removal and variation of planning conditions

Two applications have been made to amend planning conditions at The Old School, Cwmamman Road, Glanaman.

The first application is for the variation of conditions 9 and 10, which relate to access and parking spaces. The application states: "In summary, the timescale provided by the council to comply with both conditions is unduly restrictive and inappropriate for the nature and scale of work that needs to be undertaken."

The second application is for the removal of condition 12. The second application states: "In summary, it is considered that the condition is not necessary, not relevant to the development permitted, not enforceable, not precise and not reasonable in all other respects."

Both applications relate to conditions on the approved retention of the existing care facility and completion of the access and parking area.

Recreational bike park

An application has been submitted for the proposed development of a recreational bike park in Nant Y Bai Forest, Rhandirmwyn.

The park will cover a 202-hectare area, including the topography as part of the trails and include associated facilities and parking.

The proposal aims to boost tourism in Carmarthenshire and support nearby businesses, particularly holiday accommodation providers.

Granny annex

An application has been submitted for a timber, pre-fabricated, single-storey granny annex at Birds Hill Farm, Llandeilo.

The annex will serve as an ancillary space to the main dwelling, with occupants regularly engaging in activities within the main house.

The annex will not have any separate or independent facilities and is heavily reliant on the host dwelling and therefore would not be able to be classed as a separate home.

Erection of cover over existing muck store

A proposal has been submitted for the erection of a cover over the existing muck store at Fferm Tal Y Fan Fach, Llandeilo.

The cover will be on a 236 square metre area of agricultural land and made of big 6 fiber cement sheeting roof and walls and mass concrete panels.

Construction of a wooden storage shed

An application has been submitted for the construction of a wooden storage shed at Maerdy Cottages, Taliaris, Llandeilo.

The location of the shed has been selected due to the suitability of the ground, which has been developed by previous owners with a substantial hard-core and gravel base.
