The total amount raised during Christian Aid week this year was £4089.91, exceeding that of 2007 by over £800.
The total raised this year includes £1460.20 in gift aid donations, which will yield an additional several hundred pounds in income tax refunds to be claimed by the Christian Aid central office.
Many people gave their generous support to the week by organising and running the various events, contributing items for the shop, cake stall and raffle, performing at the Cân am Gymorth, and their donations. Thanks to you all.
It is expected that there will be a big increase in the demands made on Christian Aid for some time to come as the present international financial and economic difficulties affect those who live in the world's poorest countries. Our support is more vital than ever.
