Llandeilo library has obtained a Welsh Assembly Government grant for its refurbishment and will be transferring temporarily to 2 Market Street (where the bookshop was until recently).
Although there may be a reduction in stock available because of the more limited space available, the aim is to maintain as good a service as is possible in the circumstances. The current building will close at 12 noon on Saturday, November 8 and the temporary service will commence on Tuesday, November 11 at 10am, it is anticipated the current opening hours will be maintained. The refurbishment entails the creation of a new IT suite, the library being redecorated and re-carparted and some external renewal work. It is hoped that the library will reopen towards the middle of January, but this depends on the progress of the work. The Library service apologises for any inconvenience caused by the work and hopes that the refurbishment will justify any disruption that may have been caused. Should anyone need any information or wish to make any comment on the refurbishment, please contact Myrddin Morgan Regional Library Manager in Ammanford, tel: 01269 598155, email Mymorgan@carmarthenshire.gov.uk.
