TRAP WI - Held at Llandyfan church hall with Cath Rogerson presiding. Members were welcomed back after the summer break and thanked for stewarding at Trap show with congratulations to all who had won prizes. Cath thanked Jean Kelly who organised the day at Ffos Las races as part of Trap WI's 85th anniversary celebrations.
A very enjoyable day which proved to be profitable for some.
WI show in July - Congratulations to Beryl (first in Welsh poem) and Cath (third in parsnip wine).
South Wales regional quiz - Well done Mary, Beryl and Cherie for gaining firs place again.
Outdoor bowls comp - Pat Thomas' team (third place).
Happy Birthday to the birthday girls this month. Congratulations are extended to Bethan Harris on her wedding day on September 7, Bethan is Cath and Bleddyn's daughter (Maesypanwr) and is their second daughter to get married this year. Llongyfarchiadau i chich dau.
Dates for the diary - October 16 will be the Tip it at New Cross Inn from 7pm. November's annual trip to Abbey Cwm Hir near Llandrindod, ring Lesley on 01558 822792 for cost and bookings.
November 21 - book quiz at the Cottage Inn.
The speaker for the evening was introduced - Maureen Davies from Carmarthen, who demonstrated working with beads.
She was very informative and had brought along many beautiful samples of her work.
She was thanked by Olga.

Raffle winners were: Ann Thomas and Sue Jones.
Next meeting will be October 8 at Llandyfan hall, when Terry Norman will speak on local history.
