Premiership Bowls Carmarthen 71 Ammanford Town 79 Ammanford Town's 12-point home win against visiting Havelock a week ago was followed up by a maximum 14-point victory on the road at Carmarthen last Saturday.

The result brought Town's points total to 34 after four games and the reward of a mid-table position with games in hand to mark a very promising start to their premiership season under the leadership of captain Andy Hillier.

Despite heavy pre-match rain the green bowled well and Town got off to a flying start to find themselves leading by 16 shots after five ends, with all four rinks up.

However by the tenth end, Carmarthen had wiped out the Ammanford lead and Town found themselves one shot behind overall with two rinks up and two rinks down.

By the 15th end of this nip-and-tuck match Ammanford had clawed back the lead and found themselves three shots up overall.

The last quarter proved to be just as tight with both sides digging deep, but Town were able to run out eventual winners by 79 shots to 71 with all the Town rinks up by narrow margins.
