Garnant hitman Chris Jenkins' career has taken a massive step forward with his inclusion on the Prizefighter bill.
The 24-year-old light-welter has come through the ranks of Ronnie Morris' Cwmgors gym and will now be going toe-to-toe with some of the best fighters in the country at the Mecca of British boxing – the famous York Hall, Bethnal Green, on July 6.
The competition will see Chris lining up alongside the likes of Ryan Taylor, Liam Shinkwin and Tony Owen in the prestigious live TV battle on Sky, sponsored by Betfair.
The event, organised by Barry and Eddie Hearn's Matchroom Sport, will also feature a ten-rounder for former British champion Kevin Mitchell.
"This is a massive step," said Ronnie Morris.
"There will be a huge TV audience and it is a huge step up in Chris' career."
In 2011, Jenkins represented Wales at the World Championships in Baku, Azerbaijan.
He turned professional in 2012.
