Dinefwr and District Bowls Tyrfran 92 Cwmamman 62.75 It proved a bad day at the office for Cwmamman’s bowlers who returned from their league visit to Tyrfran empty-handed as the home side claimed all of the 14 available points.
Cwmamman paid the price for a lack of numbers on Rink One where John Sam Jones’ depleted trio stumbled at the last.
Jones’ boys played well throughout and were 20-14 up after 15 ends, but - after having a quarter of the shots deducted at the end - they ultimately lost out by the slenderest of margins – a mere quarter of a shot.
Rink Two, under skip James Davies, were within two shots at 15 ends, but ultimately went down by seven.
Meanwhile, Byron Davies’ boys battled well on Rink Three to finish the 17th end all-square at 11-11. However, a horror show at the end saw the home side pick up a four and a three on the last few ends to claim a 19-13 win.
