South Wales T20 Knockout Cup Round One Ammanford (165-2) beat Llanelli (97) Llanelli visited the Park on Sunday in the first round of the South Wales Knockout T20 competition.

Ammanford batted first and quickly lost opener Matthew Roberts.

But any feelings of optimism Llanelli may have had were soon dissipated as Matthew Fisher joined Rhys Culley for a blistering partnership of 131.

Culley was out first for 59 from 47 balls, including five fours and two sixes.

Fisher was even more impressive, his unbeaten 94 coming from just 58 deliveries with 12 fours and three sixes.

Ammanford closed on a massive 165 for two.

Llanelli veteran Iwan Rees showed no signs of being cowed by the huge target as he set about the Ammanford bowling.

He took Llanelli to 62 in the first five overs, well over the asking rate, but when he was out for 48 from 30 balls, the visitors response crumbled.

They were all out for 97.

Next week Ammanford visit Cresselly in the next round of the Welsh Cup.
