Llanelli and District Bowls
Garden Village 50 Cwmamman 66
Cwmamman’s on-fire bowlers made the trip to Gorseinon looking for their fourth consecutive victory.
An outstanding win against high-flying Tyrfran the previous week had brought up the hat-trick and Cwm’s bowlers were keen to ensure they maintained their streak.
The visitors arrived to find the Garden rather wet and soggy and wet, and, in worsening conditions, they battled away well to come through - handsomely winning two of the four rinks under victorious skips James Davies and Mike Jones, with both claiming victory by some 20 shots.
Cwmamman’s fourth straight win takes them up to fourth in the league on 88 points which is a victory in itself when considering that the current team was created virtually from scratch at the start of the summer.
With two matches remaining, starting with a home test against Parc William on Saturday, Cwmamman will be hoping to finish the season strongly.
Their final fixture will be away against Parc Howard on August 31.
