Llandovery’s first Principality Premiership game of the season, home to Cardiff, will be televised live on S4C writes Huw S Thomas.
The match will go out live on Sunday afternoon, September 15 (KO 2 30 pm) and will be the first ever game to be covered in full at Church Bank.
Llandovery chairman, Handel Davies was a delighted man when he heard the news last week.
“After such a great season last year, we were very disappointed when neither BBC nor S4C turned up to televise one of our Church Bank games.” said Davies.
“We expected the Premiership play -off game against Llanelli at the end of the year to be targeted by television but it wasn’t to be so you can imagine our delight at the news of the Cardiff game on September 15.”
The Drovers open their season on Saturday September 7 when they host either Llanelli or Carmarthen Quins in a game to decide which Scarlets region club will play in this year’s British and Irish Cup.
Llanelli and the Quins meet at Parc Y Scarlets on Sunday September 1 to decide on who will travel to face Llandovery the following week.
This year, only four Welsh clubs will feature in the British and Irish Cup – one club from each region - and the play offs on September 1 and September 7 will establish the name of the four clubs.
