The Tigers welcomed Furnace in their first competitive outing of the new season and it was business as usual from the off.

With Furnace missing a few, they still looked a big pack and it was the away team that took the lead with a well struck penalty.

But the Banc pack soon took control and new signing Christian Madge ghosted his way through to open his account.

A trademark Wayne Williams break made a try for veteran wing Christian Hughes shortly after before another new signing Wayne Price crashed over.

Skipper Adrian Pugh was next up, being rewarded for his support play and this was followed by the try of the game for acting scrum half Geraint Evans who side stepped his way to the line for a fantastic finish.

Pugh powered over shortly before half-time and this was followed by a short range effort from centre Mathew Brayley for a score of 48-3 at the break.

The back row especially had a great half with No8 Chris Jones at his rampaging best backed up by the graft on the floor of robust flankers Tom Wyn and Gethin Harris.

With the game over as a contest, the Tigers continued to dominate all aspects of play.

The scrum and line-out were immense and locks Rees and Jones pinched a considerable amount of Furnace ball at line-out time.

A neat break from Evans saw Madge grab a second after a sprint in from 40 yards and then a quick double from the impressive Price saw the pacey wing pick up a hat-trick in his first league game for the club.

Player coach Evans was not to be outdone though and he soon joined Price on three tries with two fine finishes.

Fly half Mathew Lloyd ran his back-line well and was the orchestrater for many of the Banc tries, also kicking eight conversions.

The young front row of Steffan Charles, Adrian Pugh and Rhodri Jones must also get a mention after another good day at the office against their older more experienced counterparts and also forwards coach Mark Jones, who showed plenty of desire around the park.

All four subs also played their part in a great start to life in Division Four.
