LLANDYBIE Tennis Club held a fun-day for its junior members on Saturday with a range of activities and competitions to keep the stars of tomorrow entertained and engaged.
The day was organised and supervised by Mathew Davies with the help of Jonathon and Nathan Thomas.
The Catch Tennis champion competition was scooped by Cian Thomas while Carys Evans was named a worthy second place.
Meanwhile, the Mini-Red competition was won by Rhys Evans with Macs Toogood claiming the runners-up spot.
The afternoon was taken up with a round robin competition involving 26 entrants made up of parents with club members enjoying the entertainment and mixing with one another as partners.
The club presentation evening at Llandybie RFC was held in aid of the John Nicholas Memorial Trophy.
The entire day was held in memory of John, who gave much of his time to the club.
The trophy was claimed by Lucy Williams and Graham Bettiss who won the afternoon’s event.
The trophy was presented by Olive Nicholas, John’s widow, who thanked all present for their support.
The presentation was followed by a hog roast and disco.
Such was the success of the day, that the fun-day and competition will now be held as an annual event.
