Cwm Wanderers 6 Harp Rovers 0
Cwm returned to winning ways with a 6–0 demolition of previously unbeaten Harp Rovers to claim second spot in Division One of the Neath and District League.
Goals from Ga Francis (four), Ashley Elton and David Griffiths were enough to see off the Harpists.
Meanwhile, Cwm Reserves stormed into a 4-0 lead at Seven Sisters thanks to a Patrick Brittain hat-trick and a goal from new man Michael Young, recently recruited from Bryn Rovers.
However they took their foot off the gas and allowed Seven to close the gap to 4-3, but Cwm hung on to claim all three points.
Cwm Thirds suffered their first defeat of the season at Longord, going down by the odd goal 3–2,
Cwm veteran Alun Owens seemed to have second a point for Wanderers with hi two goals, but a late Longford strike saw the visitors sent home empty-handed.
The club’s U14s earned a hard-fought victory at Bryn Roverss, where goals from Arwel Thomas (two) and Tome Lewis earned Wanderers a 3-1 win.
However, the club’s youth side failed to live up to their strong start to the season and suffered a 4-2 home defeat at the hands of Cimla.
Cwm Wanderers lucky fours numbers were: 23, 10, 9, 20. Claims must be made by 6.30pm on Saturday, October 5.
