Ammanford 2nds 23 Brynaman 2nds 14

In Ammanford’s 2nds third league game of the season, Brynaman gave the home team their toughest test of the season.

Cerith Evans slotted over the first penalty of the game only for Brynaman to reply with a try of their own through a solo effort of their open side flankers.

Ammanford got their first try out wide to take the lead by a point, and just before half time, Brynaman, who looked the better team, scored their second converted try to make it 8-14 at the interval.

Ammanford made the best of the strong wind in the second half, kicking the ball down field with every opportunity.

An early penalty followed by a second well-worked try out wide gave the hosts a 16-14 lead.

With time running out and Brynaman having to take some risks, Ammanford grabbed their third try of the game to make the score-line appear far more comfortable than it really was.

With the old heads of the forwards going well, all Ammanford now need are one or two younger backs in order to give the league a real go.
