West Wales Intermediate Cup
Round One
Ynysmeudwy Athletic 2 Landore 3
Ynysmeudwy played host to Landore in the West Wales Intermediate Cup and took the lead through a goal by Paul Sypliwtchak, who netted for the second time in a week.
Sypliwtchak was impressive throughout and finished well after a neat passing move allowed him the time and space to rifle the ball home.
The hosts held their advantage until after the interval when Landore levelled from the penalty spot.
The visitors then went ahead, but the Athletic kept pressing.
The search for an equaliser was their undoing as Landore counter-punched to push their advantage t 3-1.
Richard Medwin pulled a goal back for Ynys, who went very close to taking the game into extra time only to be foiled at the last.
James Slattery was outstanding throughout.
The Athletic are home on Saturday when they entertain Glynneath Town (KO 2.30pm) while Ynys Reserves travel Cambrain (KO 2.30pm).
