Saron U13s 3 Pontarddulais U13s 0
On a glorious sunny morning, Saron knew they were going to have a tough game with Pontarddulais the only side to take points off them last season.
The hosts dominated the early exchanges and played some cracking football, but failed to claimed the rewards for their hard work with Curtis, Jordan and Carwyn all missing out on good chances.
Sean worked tirelessly in the middle showing the determination needed to carry the team through while the back four were marshalled by Steff, who continually looked to step up and play the ball from the back.
The visitors did manage one breakaway, but Dyfan was quickly off his line to pull off an excellent double save.
Saron started the second half in determined mood and camped themselves in the Pontarddulais half.
The pressure eventually told as Ayrton finished well to give the hosts a deserved lead.
Bont refused to lie down however and only superb last ditch tackles from Joe and Ben kept them at bay.
Carwyn moved into the centre and grew in influence as the game went on and Rhys was unlucky not to score with a header from a corner.
Saron continued to pile on the pressure and the goals eventually came.
Curtis notched the second, while Ayrton capped his super-sub display by doubling his tally.
Keeper Dyfan was a spectator in the second half thanks to the superb performance of back four Steff, Callan, Joe and Ben.
Saron travel to Seaside next week.
