Bryncoch 23 Cwmgors 28 Asda National League Division 3 South West CWMGORS' pack was in outstanding form in an open game where both sides played their part.
Cwmgors had to shuffle the side around somewhat, and fell behind to an early penalty.
The hosts extended their lead when from a long pass, a move, begun from deep, resulted in a converted try.
Cwmgors, for whom scrum half Phil Thomas Geraint Evans and Karl Nottingham impressed, hit back well.
Full back Carl Carter came into the line to take a pass and go over for a fine try.
Phil Thomas' quick thinking from a tapped-penalty, and excellent support from forward Paul Caines then carved an opportunity for Geraint Evans to go over for a second Cwm score, which Richard Gregg converted.
Bryncoch slotted a penalty near halftime to trail just 13-12 at the interval.
Two Gregg penalties just after the change around edged Cwmgors ahead further.
Then, from turnover ball won following a lineout, Cwmgors punched holes through the middle, and centre Matthew Dunn looped around to go in for a fine try.
Brynoch hit back with a try and with the game now in the balance, the home side sensed another score, and it duly arrived.
But, with two minutes remaining, Cwmgors nicked the win.
After several phases of good play, the play was switched, and winger Andrew Browsy' Davies dived over for a winning try, although Cwm had to sweat a few minutes as Bryn launched a last gasp assault.
