Morriston 40 Llandeilo 7 Asda National League Division 4 West LLANDEILO slipped to a fourth consecutive defeat at mid table Morriston.
Forced into making a number of changes due to a lengthening injury list, the Blacks were on the back foot from the kick off.
The home side raced into a 11-0 lead with two Ceri Palmer penalties and an 80m breakaway which was rounded off by flanker Dean Shackley.
The visitors tried to play an expansive game with wing Kevin Walters making several good breaks.
But some stout defending from Morriston held them at bay and the hosts scored again on the stroke of half time when wing Peter Roberts crossed.
The Blacks upped the tempo in the second half with youngsters Hywel Price and Mark Squirell looking sharp.
But the home side went further in front when a Llandeilo move broke down, and the ball was spread to Roberts for his second try.
This seemed to take the stuffing out of Llandeilo and the home side increased their lead with another three tries with Roberts completing his hat-trick.
The introduction of No 8 Owen Smart saw the visitors raise their game and were unlucky not to score on a number of occasions.
But they did eventually break through when centre Gareth Thomas crossed over for a try converted by scrum-half Emyr Davies.
