Amman United sank to a fourth consecutive defeat, but perhaps the visitors were the better side on the day and deserved the win.
The visitors took an early lead with a Mark Jones penalty from 35 yards, but Amman should have gone ahead when a swift backs' move saw Gavin Lewis almost put wing Stuart Herbert in.
Rhys Thomas then missed a kickable penalty, following an offside offence, before Amman lost possession in midfield, and turnover ball allowed the visitors to extend the lead.
Amman got a bit of reward for their efforts when a slick movement from the backs, with Gavin Lewis and in particular wing Dai Gravelle doing well, saw Herbert take the final pass to cross for a try converted by Rhys Thomas.
Kenfig scored again before half time to lead 13-7.
Amman battled, with Steve Morris, Lee Thomas, Dai Matthews and Karl Worsfold influential around the park, and Amman brought on fresh legs with Stuart Davies, Ciaran Looney and Rhys Jones, who did well in the lineouts, introduced.
A neat drop-goal from centre Wayne Jones reduced the arrears for Amman just after the break, but the scores continually changed back and fore through the second half.
Amman grabbed the lead for the first time, when from a fine lineout move, the visitors were caught cold, and forward Tom Davies crashed over from short range for a try in the corner before another penalty edged the visitors back in front.
Rhys Thomas then swung the match back in Amman's favour with a penalty, following an offside offence, but, with five minutes to go, a 35 metre penalty from the visitors gave them a slender one point lead.
Matchball sponsors were Wyn Pugh Plant Hire, Hazel Williams (Half Moon), TRJ, Betws and Dorian and Graham (fencing).
