Llandeilo ended their four-match losing streak with a convincing victory over a plucky Burry Port side.

When the visitors arrived with a bare 15 and unable to field a recognised front row, referee Steve Vaughn had no option but to have uncontested scrums which, in effect, nullified the hosts forward-orientated gameplan.

The home side took only three minutes to take the lead when a break from centre Gareth Thomas saw Dean Owens in support to cross under the posts for a converted try before the visitors levelled matters with a try of their own.

The return of the influential Rob Davies in the second row saw the forwards stamp their authority on the game and fly-half Emyr Davies regained the lead with a well-taken try.

Brother Huw also got on the scoresheet with a try from a catch and drive from 30m.

Centre Thomas then raced over for a try to give the home side a 24-7 interval lead.

With the visitors down to thirteen men, the supporters waited for the floodgates to open. But the visitors had other ideas and ran at Llandeilo at every opportunity.

Llandeilo bounced back, however, and eventually the pressure told with Kevin Walters and James Hughes crossing to complete a much-needed victory.
