Ammanford could well have gone 0-1 down after just five minutes when West End No9 Darren Griffiths 1-1 put in a great shot when clear only to see keeper Walton pull off a great block save.
Ammanford then tested the visitors defence when Darren Jenkins broke the half way and cut inside the box where the keeper block saved for a corner and where fully stretched for the next five minutes conceding anther two corners. But play some swing back to the Ammanford area and saw Walters pull off a fine score.
Ammanford then had the visitors out full stretch in defence before they created a chance but hit the side netting a fine deep cross from Paul Joens then created panic with two corners before the visitors cleared the danger. Play was even up to the 30 minutes when a terrible back pass left in West Ends striker Wayne Jones who took the chance to score.
It took two more fine saves from keeper Walton before they increased their lead when they were caught out playing the offside and Jones scored his second just minutes from halftime. The match was put beyond Ammanford ten minutes into the second half when Darren Griffiths scored and he added another two for hat trick, with Ammanfords keeper Walton pulling off some superb saves, and managed to keep the score at 0-5 a terrible result that hampers Ammanfords place for promotion and that West End have opened a gap between the two teams.
Next Saturday, Ammanford are home to second place Cambrian/Clydach, kick off 2.30pm. The Reserves won away 1-5 against Morriston for their four win in a row. The reserves are away to Port Talbot Thursday evening, kick off 7pm, and away to local rivals Cwmaman Saturday, kick off 2.30pm.
