The winter league at Glynhir came to its conclusion when Mark Williams and Marc Evans eventually overcame Huw Lloyd and Steve Singleton on the 18th hole in an exciting final.

The April medal was won by Martin Jones 75-6 nett 67 followed by Barry Lewis 78-7=71 and Viv Rees 82-9=73.

Division 2 was won by Alex Davies 80-11=69; Nigel Ruck 83-11=72 and Neil Davies 83-11=72.

Division 3 was won by Jay Ramsurran 98-28-=70; Llyr Edwards 97-25=72 and 3 Chapman 92-19=73.

Mike Rees won the Coronation Cup with 39 points. The event was also a qualifier for the Welsh team Championship at Ashburnham and the remainder of the team is Ron Hanbury 37 points. Dewi Williams 36 points and Terry Rees 36 points.

The A team commenced their season with a defeat at Carmarthen 61/2 - 21/2 while the B team lost at Machynys 6-1.

The Rabbits lost again at Priskilly but hope to get on the winning streak at home to Tenby on Sunday.

The latest round of the West Wales Alliance took place at Glynhir over the weekend.

It proved to be the most successful for many years, said secretary of the Alliance Chris Bailey, as the weather matched the superb conditions of the course for over 100 golfers from all over south Wales who fought for the £100 prize money Winners were Robert Arbourne and Steve Watkin from Neath with a net 62. Ex Glynhir professional Duncan Prior of Brynhill in Barry partnered by Kevin Jones of Machynys came second with a net 64.

Mike Hobbs and Wayne Batty of Gowerton came third also with a net 64 and current Glynhir professional Richard Herbert and Glynhir green keeper Nigel Ruck came fourth with a net 65.
