Llandybie Tennis club first and second played each other in the Division One West South Wales league on Saturday for the first time in the clubs history.
The mens first team won by nine events to nil, winning pairings for the first team were Aled Griffiths and Gareth Davies; Matthew Nicholas and Craig Armstrong; Emyr Nicholas and Rhydian Jones; the pairings for the second team were Matthew Meredith and Les Zeefahs; Iwan Nicholas and Robert Smith; David Nicholas and Grant Millard; and Jonathon Thomas and Dafydd Nicholas.
The ladies travelled to Haverfordwest tennis club and although the match result was three events each. Llandybie lost on countback by eight sets to seven sets.
Daphne Jones and Helena Nicholas won two events; Helen Morris and Chloe Alpine won one event and Hazel Davies and Rachel Davies lost their events. Weekend matches were supported by PD Rees and sons.
Next weekend the mens first team are home to Swansea tennis club.
The men's second team are away to Glamorgan Health and Racquet club and the ladies team are away to Bridgend tennis club.
Ladies club night continues on a Tuesday evening, mens club night on a Wednesday evening and mixed club night on a Thursday evening.
All new members are welcome.
