Carmichael capitalises to extend Caerbryn streak

On a wintry afternoon, Caerbryn made it seven unbeaten with a convincing home win against Pwll.

Caerbryn started strongly with an early goal through a strong Stuart Dunn header. Dunn leapt highest from Lloyd Bevan's excellent delivery.

It was two to the hosts shortly after when Oliver Dymond lobbed the keeper from distance with a convincing finish. The home team were not taking control, with Rhys Williams and Sean Howells providing constant threats and having efforts of their own go just wide.

The third goal was well taken by Dylan Carmichael, who buried his attempt past the hosts keeper following a strong run down the right flank by Kyle Wells.

The away side tried getting back into the game but Caerbryn stayed strong and held off to take a 3-0 into half time.

The second half started evenly, however the Caerbryn defenders Matt Warnes, Jacob Liles and Liam Jones were solid throughout the game and would not give the away team any chances.

Caerbryn finished the game off when Tim Chapman drove powerfully down the left wing and squares for Carmichael to get his second of the game.

Caerbryn kept pushing for goals, and as they pushed, the away side countered strongly, however Nathan Craven was once again equal to any effort and earned a well-deserved clean sheet.

Caerbryn go to 3rd in Division 1 and continue this impressive league streak before they host CK Swiss Valley next week.

Caerbryn Reserves unlucky not to get anything away to Felinfoel.

Caerbryn started slowly and this proved costly. Two defensive errors led to an early 2-0 deficit. The boys heads didn't drop however, shots from Aled Saunders and Owen Flowers tested the impressive home keeper.

Another attack resulted in Flowers hitting the bar. A set piece followed shortly, and in the mele Dan Kinsey finished well to reduce the deficit. Bryn kept on pushing and Ben Morgan had a cracking long range effort tipped around the post by the keeper.

The second half started in similar vein with Bryn probing against an experienced physical defence.  The hosts added a third against the run of play from a corner. Bryn kept going and Flowers hit the woodwork again before netting to reduce the deficit. Bryn kept on pushing but ultimately run out of time.

Plenty of positives from the performance however. Ethan Carmichael started at left back, growing into the role as the game went on - getting him the nod for man of the match. Mat Jones continued his impressive season with two assists.

On another day points would have been gained. Felinfoel's keeper was undoubtedly their star performer.

Caerbryn AFC would like to say a special thank you to all club and players sponsors for their continued support.
