Carmarthenshire AFL Darch Cup Quarter-Final
Caerbryn Reserves 3 Abergwili Reserves 0
Caerbryn Reserves booked themselves a semi-final place in the Darch Cup with a convincing victory over Abergwili Reserves.
Caerbryn started the game strongly, breaking the deadlock after 6 minutes. Fraser Williams volleyed home his first of the afternoon convincingly following some strong link-up play between Aled Saunders and Matthew Jones.
The game then evened out, with both teams attacking but not creating many clear-cut chances. Goalkeeper Daniel Kinsey was composed all game, starting any passing attacks from the back. Midfielders Adam Rowe and Josh Davies mopped up in the middle tremendously well, providing chances to the attack.
Following some strong defending, Caerbryn doubled their lead just before the break when Tim Chapman broke through the Abergwili defensive line. His cross found Williams, who finished for his second of the game. The hosts went into the break with a two-goal lead.
Caerbryn dominated in the second half with a solid back-line of James Kitt-Griffiths, Dylan Thomas, Ben Morgan and Cameron Evans providing a platform for the Caerbryn attackers.
Caerbryn continued to push for a third goal. Chances fell to substitutes Joe Kinsey and Kieran Jones, but the away keeper was equal to any effort. It was Ben Edwards who eventually got the third after skilful play down the left flank. His effort squirmed it's way through the keeper to cement Caerbryn's place in the semi-final.
Jake Webb and Callum Horley added to an all-round professional and disciplined Caerbryn performance with committed efforts down the flanks.
Next weekend, Caerbryn Firsts travel to Bancffosfelen, aiming to solidify their position at the top of Division 1. Caerbryn Reserves host Pembrey Reserves in a Reserve Division 2 tie.
Caerbryn AFC would like to thank all club and player sponsors for their continued support to the club. Diolch o galon am eich cefnogaeth.
