Joe Hopkins bagged two second-half goals to lead Llanelli Town AFC to a 3-1 away victory over Ammanford AFC in the JD Cymru South league on Friday evening.
Despite Ammanford gaining the lead in the 25th minute with a curling strike from Tristan Jenkins, Sean Cronin equalised quickly for Llaenlli before Hopkins put the game to bed with goals in the 44th and 46 minutes.
Ammanford’s hopes of winning the league no longer exist as they remain third, 11 points behind first-placed Llanelli who have played one game more.
Gruff Harrison’s side return on Good Friday to play Caerau Ely at home before travelling to Abertillery Bluebirds and Briton Ferry on the 1st and 9th April respectively.
