Cwmamman United are continuing their strong start to the season with a 4-1 win over Cwm Wanderers.

Maintaining their unbeaten streak at home and in the Macron Premier League, the Welsh team dominated the first 35 minutes at Grenig Park.

Despite some games being called off due to heavy rain, the pitch was in prime condition.

A flurry of fast-flowing football ensued, with plays by Elliot Smith and Ryan Gibbons denied by saves from Elliot Antcliffe in goal.

Cwmamman also hit the woodwork twice in a testament to their relentless energy.

The pressure finally broke through, with Gibbons scoring the first goal in the 17th minute, assisted by Smith.

A second successful assist from Smith saw Gibbons score once again in the 25th to create a two-nil lead.

Cwm Wanderers made it onto the scoreboard with Callum Humphrey tapping the ball into the net after some smart play.

The rain started to come in during half time, which led to a more even affair for the majority of the second half.

Ryan Gibbons was taken off due to injury, with Danny Briggs coming off the bench to add some pace for Cwmamman.

Wanderers were not left behind, with Charlie Davies and James Gorman putting up fierce resistance.

Briggs managed to score in the 58th minute, putting Cwmamman in a more comfortable lead.

Myles Perkins concluded the scoring in the 92nd minute, leaving Cwmamman United triumphant.

This victory sees Cwmamman now sit in third-place in the league.

Their next match is away to play Garden Village at 7pm on September 13.
