Llandovery RFC unveiled its new 3G playing surface at Church Bank.

The event, held on Friday, October 4, welcomed community partners, families, and friends to inspect and walk on the new pitch.

This was a one-time occasion, as regular shoes will no longer be allowed to prevent damage.

The rugby club partnered with Llandovery AFC and Llandovery College to develop the new facility.

Funding was sourced from Sports Wales, Carmarthenshire County Council, and the clubs' own crowdfunding initiatives.

The planning consent for the project was granted in May, and the pitch was ready in just over six weeks.

The new pitch hosted its first competitive game on Saturday when the Drovers narrowly lost to Ebbw Vale, 31-28, in the Super Rugby Cymru.

The official opening of the facilities is scheduled for later in the season.
