Ammanford RFC have continued their successful season, moving into the top four after a decisive 43-7 victory.

Despite a shaky start against Ystalyfera, Ammanford soon found their rhythm, with full-back Morgan Meaclen scoring the first try after a series of well-executed passes.

Ystalyfera responded swiftly, gaining the lead through a skilful move that saw scrum-half Kaden Davies score, with a conversion added.

However, Ammanford soon regained control.

A close-range penalty allowed flanker Jed Anthony to power over the line, with Sam Potter converting.

A flurry of activity in the last 10 minutes of the first half saw Ammanford take a commanding lead.

Wing Fraser Gregory and Meaclen combined to set up Ceri Rees for a try.

Rees had been moved to scrum half earlier in the game after a cut to Rhys Evans.

Outside half Potter then scored a memorable try, weaving through six defenders before sprinting 50 metres to score.

Although he missed the conversion attempt, Ammanford quickly made up for it, with Meaclen and Gregory working together again for Meaclen's second try.

By half-time, Ammanford were leading 29-7.

The second half saw Ammanford's dominance continue.

After 15 minutes, a well-orchestrated backs move created space for Gregory, who passed to centre Liam Smith for an easy score.

Potter converted, extending the lead further.

With a comfortable lead, Ammanford made several substitutions, with young players like tight head prop Osian Rees and Caleb John proving their mettle at this level.

The game lost some of its shape towards the end, but Ammanford managed to score one more try.

Potter capitalised on a gap in the defence, chipping and chasing the ball for an easy run-in, before converting his own try to seal the victory.

The final score of 43-7 secured Ammanford's place in the top four.
