Cwmgors RFC secured a solid victory against Glais RFC to maintain their unbeaten home record.
Cwmgors triumphed 23-10 at Parc y Werin in a match marked by key performances from several players, including wing Jac Evans and centre Jordan Smith, both of whom celebrated their 50th appearances for the club.
The match, played in Division 4 West Central, saw Cwmgors captain Smith score an early penalty, putting the home side in the lead.
Following a quick line-out, Cwmgors opened Glais' defence, leading to a try by centre Owen Davies, converted by Smith.
Despite Glais’ attempts to bounce back, including two missed penalties, Cwmgors managed to extend their lead to 13-0 by half-time with another penalty from Smith.
The second half saw Cwmgors continuing their offensive play.
A pass intercepted from under their own posts resulted in a brilliant solo counter-attacking try by Owen Davies, converted by Smith.
Glais put up a fight, with their man of the match Jordan Dineen involved in two late tries.
However, the gap proved too wide to close, and Cwmgors clinched a well-deserved win.
Number eight Liam Griffiths was named Cwmgors’ man of the match for his all-round performance.
Cwmgors RFC will be looking to extend their unbeaten record further when they host the unbeaten Seven Sisters next at Parc y Werin on Saturday.
