Teigrod Teilo U12s 5 Llan Rads 1 As they did against Camford last week, the Teigrods came out expecting nothing less than a victory. Straight from the kick-off Teigrod were on the attack with some good footwork from Tommy Priestland creating Teigrod’s first goal, scored by Lewis Jones.

In the 15th minute some great midfield work by Sam, Cai and Rhun gave Rhydian the chance to put in a great cross from the right only for a Llan Rads player to handle the ball in the area.

The referee had no hesitation in pointing to the spot and Lewis Jones stepped up to accurately place the penalty in the left-hand corner of the goal beyond the reach of the out-stretched visiting keeper. Teigrods found themselves comfortably in control with a two-goal lead.

In the 25th minute, Tommy scored his first and Teigrods third to ensure the home side a 3-0 advantage at the break.

It took until the 40th minute for the visitors to earn themselves a consolation goal when some brave defending from Charlie and Huw failed to keep out a Rads effort which took a wicked deflection off a Teigrod defender before looping over Luke Heath’s head.

Five minutes later, the Teigrods, with some exceptional formational play, struck again following some lovely movement and passing down the right wing.

Lewis Jones played an inch perfect pass to Sam Rhys who calmly slotted the ball into the left hand corner of the net. Teigrods’ fifth goal was nicely put away by Captain Cai Davies to bring a perfect end to Teigrods day and put them on top of the table thanks to goal difference. Teigrod once again proved themselves an exciting young side playing good team football and rising to whatever challenge they face. Man of the match was Lewis Jones.
