Calamity soon struck again when Calvin Brittain’s through-ball rolled tamely to Thomas, who inexplicably fell over, spilling the ball for Steve Hopkins to tap home.
Cwm were awarded a penalty early in the second half when Hopkins was upended, but keeper Thomas – deputising for long-term injury Dai McCutcheon – redeemed himself by saving Carl Brittain’s spot-kick.
Hopkins poached a 75th minute goal to seal the points for Cwm, who saw defender Owain Davies, Paul Kelly and Adam Stevens,in a rare first-team appearance all play well. Kevin Reid stabbed home a late consolation.
