Following on from Friday evening’s opening clash in the 2013-14 RaboDirect PRO12 the Scarlets continued their community visits on Sunday taking in some of the beautiful coastline of Pembrokeshire.
With a comprehensive community scheduled booked in over the next few months the Scarlets made their way to Pembrokeshire on Sunday, 8th September, to take part in Fishguard & Goodwick RFC’s club registration day whilst also paying a visit to the Murco Milford Haven Refinery Family Day.
Llanelli born prop Samson Lee and centre Nick Reynolds headed West to lend a helping hand at Fishguard & Goodwick RFC’s registration day and shared their knowledge of the game with the club’s young players.
Murco Milford Haven Refinery also opened their doors on Sunday to their staff and families for a fun day out for everyone.
The Scarlets were delighted to be invited to be a part of the family fun day, alongside partners Radio Pembrokeshire. Rhys Priestland, Scott Williams and Liam Williams fresh from their opening game of the league campaign were joined at the Murco Oil Refinery by British & Irish Lion Jonathan Davies at the event.
Scarlets and Wales centre Scott Williams, from Newcastle Emlyn, said; “It’s been a fantastic day out and we’ve all thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. The rain stayed away for most of the day and we’ve had an opportunity to meet some of our supporters – young and old – down here in Pembrokeshire and thank them for their continued support.”
Ken Owens, Aled Davies and Aled Thomas will be visiting Llangennech RFC on Monday 9th September.
