Division Five West Penygroes 36, Llangwm 3 A FINE display of running rugby sawPenygroes halt their run of narrow defeats against a spirited Llangwm side.
The visitors even opened the scoring, with a fine penalty after six minutes, before a resurgent Penygroes took complete control.
The hosts hit back just a minute after the opening score to level with a penalty from Chris Powell and with their pack totally dominant, it was no surprise when Groes number eight Gareth Davies stormed over for a fine individual try to put his side 8-3 ahead.
A further penalty from Powell and a fine back line movement, resulting in Darren Price scoring out wide, gave Groes a well-deserved 16-3 interval lead.
Confident Penygroes reestablished their domination after the break with another Powell penalty on 46 minutes quickly followed by a superb try from centre Phil Morgan.
With Groes in total control, only some careless handling and some dubious touchline calls prevented several further tries.
But after 63 minutes centre Morgan sprinted over for his second to earn Groes a deserved bonus point. Powell converted.
Man of the match Davies crowned a superb personal performance with his second try late on.
